Temper is dedicated to the preservation of British craftsmanship, thoughtful living and purposeful design. Our guiding principle is that products should be made to last, cared for then passed to the next generation. We believe this is achieved through timeless design, British manufacturing, locally sourced and fully recyclable, high quality materials. We hold quality in the highest regard and stand confidently by our product range, because premium products require less maintenance and enjoy a longer lifespan.
The team at Temper has over 30 years combined experience in lighting design, install and manufacture. We also run the lighting company Loomlight where we reclaim and restore mid century vintage industrial lighting. Through our conversations with clients at Loomlight, we’ve observed a growing demand for high-quality industrial-style lighting. This comes in response to the market being increasingly saturated with imported fixtures made from cheap materials and lacking in design innovation. So we want to provide a solution and manufacture our own industrial style fixtures alongside restoring vintage fixtures at Loomlight and separate the two with a new name.
Hence the birth of Temper.

Our inspiration comes from our love of vintage industrial lighting which has purposeful design intent. By taking inspiration from timeless design pieces, we seek to reimagine iconic designs by creating streamlined lighting collections with a modern twist that fuse both form and function.
Inside our Leicestershire factory our obsession with quality has compelled us to produce modern designs with British manufacture at the core. We closely manage every step of the design and production process to ensure quality is upheld at every step. Our lights are designed, assembled and shipped within the walls of our Leicestershire factory. We believe that something worth owning now is worth owning forever and our products reflect that ethos.
